Is Barbie changing for the better?
I read quite a few of your blog posts saying that Barbie is such a bad thing, and how shes racist and a horrible role model...which i kind of agree but do you think the corporation is trying to improve? I think they have made a effort to reach out to different demographics, by making different races, a chemo barbie and etc. i think all these variations in barbie give girls something to relate too. Of course Barbie will always be the unrealistic white women to us but i will give them credit they have to tried to improve this image. I remember when i was a little i had different races of barbies and american girl dolls, not just white ones. i think Barbie needs to continue to improve there brand by making her body more realistic to young girls, the women needs to gain a couple pounds. I still do agree that she is one of the many reasons younger girls are having body images.
