I thought todays class was very interesting. Mostly everything has fans or followers and the things these people do is sometimes crazy. I think what makes someone a fan is some who is committed to a specific show or band and supports them/it by promoting them/it to their friends and family. A super fan is someone who takes this to the next level and starts stalking the band or celebrity, which is borderline creepy. Going to every one of lady gagas concerts around the world to show your devotion to her is not only very expensive but it also takes a lot of energy and time. It is also very interesting how everything popular started off with one form of media and became a franchise. For example, harry potter started out with a set of 7 books. Now there are fan clubs, clothing lines, conventions, spin offs, musicals, and many more forms of advertisements. This is a good way to make money but it also lacks creativity because the fans create all of these things and the media producers just take these ideas and realize they can make money off of them.
