After watching the video in class about economic class and how different sitcoms portray class, I viewed television shows more closely this week. In my opinion, sitcoms do show social class in unrealistic ways. Roseanne was a good example of a show that tried to go against stereotypes and address problems that were actually accruing in the world at that time. I do feel that most of today's media is hindering to the public because it only confines people and motivates them to feel a if they have to live a certain way. This is what causes capitalism an why it is an ongoing cycle. Until sitcoms stop showing a false reality, this will continue to be a problem.
