Fandom is a crazy topic. After talking in class about the intensity of the Community fans and the story they've created for the television show within, I took a step back to analyze other groups with this loyalty. Harry Potter fans define fan loyalty and in face take it to a whole new level. From the blogs, websites, theme parks, and costumes, Harry Potter supporters consider themselves part of a community. It amazes me how "into it" these people can be. When looking at a Harry Potter blog I'm blown away at the debates/heated arguments people have on there. I just find it absolutely crazy how devoted people get to fiction cinema/shows. Outside of Harry Potter, fans of Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and the most recent Hunger Games get together to discuss scenes and alternate endings. I personally have never gotten into a program like these people which is why I have such a difficult time relating. To me these things are just movies/shows. They don't spark any controversial thoughts or extreme affinity for me. It just blows me away.
