The Simple Life.
When talking about class representation on cable TV, all i could think about was the show The Simple Life that stared Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The show was all about these famous rich stars trying..key words trying..to work middle to low class jobs. The girls struggled to do things like farm, babysit, serve food, or anything that had to do with working. I always thought this show was really interesting and kind of sad because it showed our societies "high class" failing miserably at working for there money. Paris Hilton is famous because of her dad and never had to really do any other work in her life besides appearances and reality spin offs, so what is she really good at or good for if she cant preform simple life tasks. I think this show contradicts what a lot of other shows try to teach us which is to work hard for our money and we can make it to the top, because these girls are at the top and didn't work for anything, and cant preform daily tasks of the middle low class, which work so hard. Yes i think this show was highly entertaining and really funny but it semi gives the wrong message to youth who would be watching this show.
