Occupy Wall Street
During our discussion in class today regarding occupy wall street and the tea party, I really identified with Lippmann's theory. In regards to occupy wall street, I agree with Lippmann's stance, I think that alot of people involved in that movement, don't really understand what they are protesting for. I think since the majority of people are within the 99% bracket, they feel connected to the cause, regardless of whether they truly are struggling or just bitter that they aren't prospering as much as those in the 1%. When there are fiscal issues in our nation it's so easy to blame those in charge. Everyone has their opinion on how things should be taken care of, however those that are in power and in charge have the proper training in their field, and they understand the consequences if certain actions. It is easy for us to keep putting the blame on those in charge, but we rarely put ourselves in their positions. I don't think the public is educated enough to make suggestions or discredit what those who are experts decide is best for our society.
