Iron Man 2
The ideas of Marxism can be seem in the entire film of Iron Man 2 in one way or another. Stark is an over confident narcissist that "solely" saves America from people who want to overthrow or destroy us. In the film he states," I have successfully privatized world peace." Stark's comments on how he is here to save the world for us leads to our view of needing an American hero to save us. The people in the movie accept his narcissism because he saves us from outside harm, but does the ends justify the means. He calls out the government and puts them down that egotistically speak to how he is better. The film says yes as long as you save America you can act however you want. Iron Man 2 shows ideology through how he overpowers everything in the country where everywhere you turn you see Iron Man on TV, newspapers, billboards etc. These ideas that we need the elite and rich and powerful to save us from enemies although in real life it is the common man that protects us everyday. Does this film effectively portray how America views heroes? So do we really need the elite to save us such as Iron Man or is it because that is all we see in media?
