In my opinion fame is in the eye of the beholder. What what person might consider famous, another person might view as popular. I believe fame is difficult to define because there isnt a set of rules that come with determining if a person is  famous. We as people make one another relevant. Depending on the situation, number of people who know you, and if you receive constant attention, one could agree weather you were famous or not. In my generation I feel that social media has a great impact on viewers and how they respond to a person. Untimely wether they create a persons fame or not. In other cases a persons fame might be determined by the way their small town views them. They could be famous within their town.  The way I have always viewed fame, is being know on a national level. Being recognized by many people all over the world. In other situations where a people is knows within a body of people, I consider that to be popular. With the way that media and technology are set up today, we as people have more access and opportunity to create our own fame. It used to be that only music artist, athletes, and actors were able to be in the lime like. Now with things like reality tv and youtube, we are changing the way that we create fame. Some might  even say it take less talent to be famous now.
