Disney Princesses
All of the Disney Princesses embody every stereotype for a female, even driving on Aladdin with the magic carpet. All of the females in every film they forget the heavy flaws or change who they are to be with this "prince" . In The Beauty and The Beast, Belle falls in love with a man who held her father captive, then treated her horribly, but in the end she forgives him for this because he happens to show a kinder side at a particularly moment. This says to the audience that women and submissive to men and rely on them to feel happy and complete. In The Little Mermaid the female character Ariel gives up her voice to have legs to be with a man. Ariel willing to change herself to be with a man marks how stereotypical she is, because women are "known" to change themselves to fit better in the lives of the men they are with. This type of gender stereotypes were forced upon us when we were little that they stuck with us ever since. I know most of what my ideas and concepts in relationships when I was little on how women should act and the roles of both women and men.
