Music videos:The downfall of us all
Watching music videos in class made me realize something, we are going down a deep pit of stupidity. The one video that exemplified it was the Racks on Racks video. I'm sorry but i don't see the appeal in that song. I will admit i don't like that type of rap but there is a point where someone has to think, "Why does this song exist and why is it so popular?" I thought about this throughout the whole day. When I went home, I cooked my dinner and started to watch on demand music videos, trying to figure out my answer. The first few were my favorites from the music I like, Foo fighters, Muse, and those type of bands. Then I started to mix it up with some Drake and Wiz Khalifa. I ended with the some of the stuff I truly dislike like the Racks on Racks song. From the beginning, I noticed that the songs had meaning, so they made sense. When I moved on to Drake and Wiz, they a little more weirder but they still had a meaning behind them. When I moved on to the type of music like Racks on Racks, I felt like I was hit by the idiot hammer. The song made no sense to me and just had no flow in events. I wondered if these actions are showing a increasing number of disintelligence or is it a phase that will pass by like Hair Rock. I think it is a phase and at some point these artists will stop getting music contracts.
